Study two – Four months into the service

Case Study

K came into Women’s Accommodation Scheme from temporary accommodation after being released from Peterborough prison. K had been using street drugs and was on a methadone prescription on her release from prison. Having moved into the Women’s Accommodation Service K decided to give up all forms of drugs including her methadone.

K has been in recovery now for four months, and has continually engaged with her support worker, attributing the support provided in helping her maintain her recovery. K has found this experience a great first step into independent living, knowing that she has someone to speak to, who supports and helps her has made a massive difference to K’s self-confidence and goals for her future.
