Solo Housing received funding from Saffron Housing Trust Community Foundation Community Grant programme to deliver a bespoke jewellery making course in partnership with Make Pivot. The course enabled some of our residents to make, market and sell their handcrafted jewellery which they designed themselves.
The course enabled residents to learn about the different techniques involved in jewellery making. As a group, they designed a bespoke collection called “Reflections – homemade possibilities,” consisting of 5 designs made from brass and steel, with silver fixings and chains.
Items from the collection are for sale via Designer Makers21 at 21 St Nicholas Street, Diss – you can find more information about Designer Makers at:
http://www.designermakers21.co.uk/
All profits from the sales of the collection will go into providing further training and opportunities for preventing homelessness.
